About the exam
The purpose of the English International Olympiad (EIO) is to improve students' skills by making them familiar with the basic important concepts of the language. It gives students exposure to national and international English-level competition; the test comprises knowledge and competence in the English language and assists participants in becoming proficient in the subject.
How to participate
- Comprehension, essays, letters, grammar, prose and poetry make it interesting to participate — English is one of the most loved subjects among students.
- Interested schools register online; ITO gets in touch and helps enroll students for the Olympiad exams.
- The exam is conducted in two levels with all multiple-choice questions — students who qualify the first level can sit for the second.
- ITO rewards deserving students topping the English Olympiad exam at international level with prizes and awards.
Syllabus
The syllabus is the same as prescribed by the CBSE, ICSE and State boards. The exam tests sentence structures, parts of speech, comprehension and writing skills — building both spoken and written command and overall communication confidence. There are no specific criteria or minimum requirements to participate.
